“You know you that b*tch when you cause all this conversation” My rendition of the modern Mona Lisa! 🍋🍋🍋👀

Why Beyoncé? Why the Mona Lisa?

Ever since I created my Zendaya X Frida Kahlo drawing, I've been wanting to create another art piece juxtaposing a pop culture icon with a fine art piece.

Throughout Beyoncé's career, she has asserted herself as one of the most dominant women in the music industry. After releasing her album titled Lemonade, Beyoncé sparked conversation throughout the nation. From empowering women to referencing Jay Z's alleged affair, Lemonade left listeners from all over the world in awe. The one question everyone couldn't help but think was : What is the truth? It seems as if Beyoncé knows-------but no one else does...

For centuries, people have pondered what secret lies behind the subtle Mona Lisa smile. I chose to portray Beyoncé as a modern Mona Lisa because she is a woman who has a strong sense of assuredness and insight. She truly is a woman of power and mystery.
